I may not hit life-drawing sessions like I used to but I do draw from life often. I like the way clothes hang on the body, ya know? It adds an easy to capture character and it's easier to get someone to act natural. All those "life model" poses are like they took them out of a Kung Fu book. You know the ones, the "I'm reaching for something pose" or the "I'm turning around with both hands on my hips," or my favorite "I'm lying in repose trying not to fall asleep and yet I am." BO-RING!
I hadn't done an ink wash in quite some time, can you tell? Well it's been many many years for some reason, but I thought it was fun just the same. Just need to be clear on what it is I want to really accomplish next time I set out to do one. This was...uh...improv, yeah.
"Hi there, I'm the ghost of Freddie Mercury and I'd like to sell you some cigars." I don't know...I hadn't thrown down any watercolor in sometime either and got inspired...and then quickly uninspired.
The "I have to sneeze pose" is making its rounds here in this quick attempt at some gouache. Something tells me I might have posted this before, who knows. Anyway...more color playing...I like that one arm...there's something fun developing in the color mixing. What can you expect with something out of my head?
Now for some sleep.
